MMIP Virtual Conference 2021
When: Wednesday 16 June 2021
Where: Online
About: The pandemic has highlighted the importance of global medicines supply chains, and generated unprecedented discussion around the manufacturing of medicines and vaccines; there has even been public discussion in the media about the challenges of manufacturing scale up and batch testing.
In addition, against the backdrop of leaving the EU, the government has recognised the potential for enhanced manufacturing capability to contribute to economic growth and future resilience of the healthcare system. The Office for Life Sciences is developing an overarching strategy for UK medicines manufacturing, and this conference will focus on promoting the ongoing dialogue around how this strategy should be framed and then implemented.
This virtual event is open to anyone with involvement in or interest in the manufacture of medicines, vaccines or diagnostics, either during the research and development process or for commercial supply.

Regenerative medicine in the UK Health System
When: Tuesday 23 May 2017
Where: Anatomy Lecture Theatre, Kings College London, Strand, WC2R 2LS
About: This conference reports on the findings of a major three-year ESRC research project on regenerative medicine, 'REGenableMED'. It is the first of its kind in providing a social science perspective on the development, current situation and likely future of the field within the wider NHS context.
The conference will be of value to different audiences interested in a detailed, ground-breaking analysis of the area: those working in innovation policy, commissioning, and regulation in the health service, academic social scientists exploring the dynamics of emergent biomedical sciences, clinicians and biomedical scientists, patient groups, regulatory experts, and those in Parliament with responsibility for policy relating to health, science and technology. As such, the meeting provides an excellent opportunity to meet different actors in the field, and create new links for future engagement. The meeting is strongly interactive, structured around panels, open discussion and posters.
There is no conference fee. A buffet lunch and closing wine reception will be provided to all delegates.
