CPD for Doctors 2013–2023

Continuing professional development (CPD) has become an integrated part of doctors’ working lives. However, the extent to which it achieves its aims, and how it should best be organised, are the subject of active debate. The pharmaceutical industry is a major contributor to doctors’ CPD, through its marketing and medical functions.

The ‘CPD for Doctors 2013–2023’ conference was convened by the BMJ and the ABPI to explore the current state of CPD in the UK, how it compares with other countries, and where it might be heading, with a particular emphasis on pharmaceutical industry participation.
