Mike Thompson awarded MBE

Mike Thompson, ABPI Chief Executive from 2016-2019, has been awarded an MBE for services to medicines supply resilience and development.

I remain enormously proud of the way in which the ABPI represents the pharmaceutical industry, articulating the significant role and responsibility we have to improve patient’s lives. My thanks to the Board and everyone at the ABPI for their support during my time as Chief Executive. Mike Thompson

In a statement, Mike Thompson said:

“I’m honoured to receive this award, which reflects the huge amount of work from across the pharmaceutical industry to ensure that medicines would reach patients, whatever the outcome of the Brexit negotiations.  

 “I remain enormously proud of the way in which the ABPI represents the pharmaceutical industry, articulating the significant role and responsibility we have to improve patient’s lives. My thanks to the Board and everyone at the ABPI for their support during my time as Chief Executive. I’m cheering you all on!”
