NIHR guidance on inclusivity in clinical research

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) commissioned NIHR-INCLUDE in 2017 to provide funders, researchers, and delivery teams with guidance on how to make clinical research more inclusive of under-served groups. The guidance includes a summary of what an under-served group is and the barriers they may face accessing clinical research, a roadmap of intervention points researchers can use to improve inclusion, and a framework to guide the design of inclusive research proposals.

The ABPI partnered with the NIHR to help co-design NIHR-INCLUDE’s guidance and sits on its Steering Group to help disseminate the guidance to our members and promote its uptake.
