ABPI response to NHS Long Term Workforce Plan

NHS England has published their first comprehensive workforce plan for the NHS.

Dr Amit Aggarwal, ABPI Executive Director, Medical Affairs and Strategic Partnerships said: “We welcome publication of the NHS Workforce Plan as an essential step on the path to improving patient outcomes today and preparing the NHS for the future. It’s also great to see recognition of the need for NHS staff to be upskilled to unlock the potential of science, research and technology to improve quality of care.

“Reducing long-term staffing pressures and boosting resource will enable more NHS staff to engage in cutting-edge clinical research and help the NHS embrace new, innovative treatments that can deliver improved outcomes for patients.”
