ABPI joins the Sustainable Medicines Partnership

YewMaker, the executive lead of the Sustainable Medicines Partnership (SMP), has announced that the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) has joined the partnership as a founding collaborator. The SMP is a not-for-profit private-public collaboration executing projects to make the use of medicines more sustainable.

The Sustainable Medicines Partnership is an important opportunity to bring together programmes and collaborators across the healthcare sector and to continue the drive to develop medicines in the most environmentally sustainable way possible. Steve Hoare, ABPI Director of Quality, Regulatory Science and Safety Policy

Steve Hoare, the ABPI's Quality, Regulatory Science and Safety Policy Director said:

The ABPI is delighted to join the Sustainable Medicines Partnership. Our members are already taking significant action to reduce their environmental footprint, including cutting carbon emissions, reducing waste, and saving water.

The SMP is an important opportunity to bring together programmes and collaborators across the healthcare sector and to continue the drive to develop medicines in the most environmentally sustainable way possible.
