Novartis announces new collaboration for patients

Novartis has announced a collaboration with NHS England, the National Institute for Health Research and Oxford University.

Greater collaboration and bespoke agreements between pharmaceutical companies and the NHS will be increasingly important if we are to get new medicines to people in a way that is affordable. Dr Richard Torbett

Commenting on the announcement, Dr Richard Torbett, Chief Executive of the ABPI, said:

"We have been calling for earlier conversations between companies, regulators, NICE and the NHS about bringing new medicines into the health service. 

"Greater collaboration and bespoke agreements between pharmaceutical companies and the NHS will be increasingly important if we are to get new medicines to people in a way that is affordable.”
