Richard Erwin

Richard Erwin, General Manager, Roche UK

Richard became General Manager of Roche in the UK in September 2016, following more than three decades of service for the company at UK, European and Global levels.

Richard joined Roche in 1989 - working in UK sales, clinical research and marketing. He worked his way through positions of leadership before moving into European and Global roles.

Richard moved to Roche headquarters in Basel, Switzerland and served as Head of Commercial Development and later Commercial Director for the European region. He also served as General Manager for Finland. Richard also led the development of the Roche immunology portfolio and during this time worked closely with senior management in both
Japan and the US.

Richard was also General Manager in Belgium/Luxembourg and in this role, he sought to address and overcome some of the key challenges involved in securing patient access to important Roche medicines. His passion for driving sustainable change and championing
patient needs positioned him well to lead the UK office as General Manager.

Richard, who was raised in Wales, is a dual UK/US citizen and holds a degree in Microbiology.

He has been a member of the ABPI board for six years and has been the board co-sponsor of the Value & Access Committee as well as the Welsh ABPI group.
