Doina Ionescu

Dr Doina Ionescu is Merck’s General Manager for Healthcare in the UK and Ireland.

Merck Healthcare works across three key therapeutic areas; fertility and general medicine, oncology, and neurology and immunology

Doina has been at Merck since 2006, working in a variety of roles including Global Head of Commercial Excellence, Head of Commercial Operations EMEA, and other roles across business development, R&D, and M&A

A physicist by training, Doina received a PhD in Physical Chemistry in 1997 from Southampton University and graduated with an MBA from Ashridge in 2001

Doina was elected to the Board of Directors for the ABPI in 2021

Doina has interests in gender equity in the workplace and in healthcare, digital health and personalised care
